THE LONG STORY

I'm a listener. I can't help myself. Whether it's the melodies of Tin Pan Alley's greatest songwriters or the modern day writers behind pop's biggest tunes, I'm fascinated by the miniature lessons in making records that are baked into the structure of every pop song, film score, and musical minutiae. 

It's there that I spend my off hours. Studying music across genres, decades, and production styles. So whether I'm working in Advertisement, where the marriage of sound and visual are of utmost important, or working with artists, exploring every sonic nook and cranny, I'm harnessing those moments of study. I'm listening -- to my own work, to the direction of the piece, and - most importantly - to what the song needs most..

You can't move forward in music without a deep respect for the past. But that school of thought doesn't give rise to the exciting shifts in pop music that shake pop culture to its core. To break the rules effectively, you need to be an expert in history.
